Professor of Theoretical Plasma Physics. His research covers the physics of space and astrophysical plasmas, in particular the solar wind – plasma waves and instabilities, wave-particle interactions and couplings across scales. Before coming to Bochum, he worked at the Mullard Space Science Laboratory of University College London and at the University of New Hampshire.
